This section provides tips on setting your watch, and highlights the two main features— the pulse calculator and pre-set timers. More in-depth information, including how to set Alarms and use the Stopwatch, can be found in the watch instruction manual.

Setting Reminders
What makes this watch so easy?

Setting reminders in the watch show which buttons to push and when.

Watch Buttons Will Help You

  • locate function/modes of the watch (time, timers, stopwatch, alarm and pulse)
  • make adjustments (start, stop, set, clear, move ahead, change numbers)
Set the Time

  1. Push SET-CLEAR and hold it in for 3 seconds. "HOLD TO SET" appears.
  2. The setting reminders appear. First an arrow points to START-STOP, used to change numbers and the date (always increases).
  3. Then a second arrow points to MODE-PULSE (moves between the hour, minutes, seconds and date).
  4. The last reminder reads "Press Set When Done".
  5. Simply follow steps 2 and 3 to set the time and date. The flashing arrows remind you which buttons to push.
  6. Push SET-CLEAR to save your choices. When the flashing stops, you're set.

You can stop the setting reminders by pressing any button (except INDIGLO night-light). This sends you directly to "TIME SET."

Want to see the setting reminders again? Just push, and hold, SET-CLEAR and repeat step #1.

Quick Pulse Calculation

A great way to estimate your pulse (heart beats per minute), during a walk, run or exercise class.

  1. Push the MODE-PULSE button to get to PULSE. Built-in directions appear. Just watch this 10 second demo; it shows you exactly what to do.
  2. Simply push the START-STOP button. You'll have three seconds to find your pulse, either on your neck or your wrist. (See Fig. 1)
  3. When you hear a beep, start counting your pulse beats. When you reach 10 beats, push the START-STOP button with your free hand (See Fig. 1).
  4. The display shows your estimated beats per minute. After 10 seconds, the watch switches back to Pulse, Timer or Stopwatch, depending on where you began.

Using Preset Timers

Countdown timers are great for fixed workout times, say a 15-minute run, a 30-minute walk or anything you could use a timer for. Your watch comes with 10 pre-set timers: 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 45 (minutes) and 1 hour. Timers 30 minutes or greater have a special halfway alert. For example, an alert would sound 15 minutes into a 30-minute bike ride indicating a 'turn-around' time.

  1. Push the MODE-PULSE button to get to TIMER.
  2. Push SET-CLEAR (repeatedly) to scroll through the 10 pre-set timers. Stop at the TIMER you want.
  3. Push START-STOP-- a beep sounds --the Timer counts down to zero and beeps again. You can interrupt the Timer (to take a break or stretch) by pushing START-STOP. To resume, push START-STOP again. To clear the stopped timer, push, and hold, SET-CLEAR.

Take a Peek

Want to know the time when using the Timer or Stopwatch?

No problem, just take a peek:

  • When the Timer is running, push SET-CLEAR.
  • When the Stopwatch is running, push SET-CLEAR.
